MODIFIED CT1 - Traditional Cutlass Machete
Back in stock!
This machete was modified from the CT1 (by me) and has the following attributes:
Ontario Knife Company is America's #1 Source for Machetes! We have been manufacturing the 1-18 machete under U.S. Government specifications for many years. The same quality that goes into our durable 1-18 machete is found in all the machetes we manufacture. All machetes have 1095 Black oxide coated blade steel, full tang construction, high impact, shatterproof polymer handles and steel compression rivets.
CT1 - Traditional Cutlass
* 12" Blade
* 17 1/4" Overall
* .125" Blade Thickness
If I am out of stock on this item, drop me a line and I can see about modifying a "stock" one that I have on hand.
The modifications I made include the following:
Squaring of the spine for use with a firesteel or scraping tinder.

Rounding of the front are of the blade for comfortable grip when using as a draw knife.

Convex of the edge.

Finally, up toward the handle, I scandi-ground a section at 10 degrees per side for use like a knife. The area of the blade does not generally see impacts, so it is a good area to have this sharp. It is approximately 4" long.
